Biggest ´ceviche de chocho´ of Ancash presented at the Plaza de Armas

W ithin the activities of the 158th anniversary of the political creation of the Province of Huaraz, the Provincial Municipality of Huaraz through the Deputy Manager of Business Promotion and in coordination with the Technology Centre of Peru (CESTEC), the biggest ceviche de chocho of Ancash was presented, which measured 50 meters long. The activity took place on Wednesday July 22 at 11:00 am at the main square (Plaza de Armas) in order to promote consumption of healthy foods, consolidating the gastronomy and to develop a regional identity factor.To prepare the largest ceviche de chocho of Ancash, 650 kilos of tarwi, 200 kilos of tomatoes and onions were used. Parallel to the presentation of this typical dish, people could taste different cocktails, made from fresh fruit.

During the presentation of the biggest ceviche de chocho of Ancash, the Mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Huaraz, Alberto Espinoza Cerrón, congratulated the organisers of this activity. The Director of the Decentralised Office of Culture in Ancash, José Antonio Salazar Mejía, said that this should be the beginning and the way to promote the Huaraz gastronomy.  The general public containing young people, adults, children and authorities of different public and private institutions as well as domestic and foreign tourists showed their gratitude to the organisers for being able to be part of this activity. According the organisers, around 2,000 people were present at the event.
