O n Sunday at around 10:30 pm, a bus of the company Cruz del Sur rushed out of its terminal colliding violently against the facilities of the Kasique discotheque causing luckily only material damage. The administrator of the company Cruz del Sur in Huaraz, Erick Medina Salvador, reported that the driver might have hit the accelerator instead of the brakes which would have caused the vehicle to be launched into the building and hitting a video surveillance post. Fortunately, there were no passengers in the bus at the time of the accident, nor were any bystanders hurt although some had to react quickly to not get hit by the bus.
Manuel Cuadros, the head of the municipal serenazgo (surveillance and public security services), regretted what had happened and said the pole supporting the camera was brought down due to the impact. He also added to demand the bus company to cover the costs of repairing the post and installing the camera. On Monday, the administrator of the company Cruz del Sur had a meeting with the mayor of Huaraz to coordinate the quick repair work on the corner of La Mar and Simón Bolívar. Due to the presence of many discotheques, the Huaraz Municipality will try everything within its power to have the camera installed again.
