G reat news for the many tourists and Peruvians that are stuck in Huaraz. A quick round along some of the bus stations in Huaraz learned that from tomorrow there will be limited transportation between Huaraz and Peru´s capital.
The bus companies have obtained permission to travel to Lima from 7 am until 1 in the afternoon. Overnight travelling is still strictly forbidden due to the fact that the roads are still not in optimal conditions and that rainfall might cause landslides or giant rocks falling on the roads.
The trip between Huaraz and Lima normally takes between seven or eight hours, however, passengers are advised to add another two hours of travelling to their schedule. Passengers that are waiting to travel to Trujillo are much less lucky. They will probably have to wait another two weeks until a couple of coastal bridges are repaired. The internet is still poor; however, the ATMs were working this morning.
