Jesse Galganov´s reward increased up to S/ 100.000 (30.000 U$ approx.)

T he return to Peru for Alisa Clamen couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start. She was supposed to arrive in Huaraz on Thursday morning on LC Peru´s early flight from Lima; however, her flight was canceled. Due to commitments and some scheduled interviews, Clamen instead decided to hire a taxi and was driven back to the place where her nightmare had begun. Now, Jesse Galganov´s mother is back in Huaraz to catch the attention of the local, regional and international press and by doing so; she hopes that finally someone will reveal details about the whereabouts of her son. As was revealed previously by The Huaraz Telegraph in an exclusive interview with Gideon Harari from Israel, a specialist in intelligence services and investigation, the team will not stop searching until they find what they are looking for.

Clamen´s return to Huaraz is agonising but it is necessary. Her son Jesse has been missing for four months now, and authorities such as the local police, prosecutors, telephone companies, the regional tourism directorate and also the local press seem uninterested by the fact that she recently celebrated the worst Christmas of her life. In fact, the overwhelming impression is that no one in the Huaraz area seems to care at all.

Last Friday morning, Clamen and Harari were interviewed by a reporter of local channel Canal 3 of Cable Andino, which provides cable television in Huaraz and through the Huaylas Valley (Callejón de Huaylas). The purpose of the interview was to call attention to the case, which will hopefully lead to some quick and reliable tips or crucial intel. In accordance with Harari of the Israeli Search and Rescue Company Magnus International, Canal 3 will transmit a special one hour programme during which they will show telephone numbers and contact details for those who wish to reveal information. The programme includes exclusive interviews with Clamen, Harari and Beto Pinto Toledo who all share their point of view on Galganov´s case. It will be transmitted for a week and repeated a few times each day.

Later that Friday afternoon, Clamen and Harari would pay a visit to Vision Informativa´s local radio show. Here they were joined by retired General Darío Hurtado who strongly insisted radio listeners to contact them with any relevant information. This live broadcast, led by local journalist Jaime Palma, was also transmitted in the Caraz area; Caraz is the nearest big town Jesse passed through before setting off for the Santa Cruz Trek. The research team is focusing on muleteers, peasants with cattle and guides who frequently pass through the Santa Cruz Valley because as was revealed earlier, it´s not unlikely that a person found Jesse´s body and stole his belongings such as his phone, money, etc., before hiding him. Harari stated that the team doesn’t care about Jesse´s belongings, nor about the fact that someone might have hidden it; all they are looking for is Jesse. Harari once again heavily criticised the tourism sector in Huaraz, stating that if his own son would ask to visit Huaraz, he would strongly oppose. ¨Huaraz is not a safe place, and it does not offer adequate tourism services¨.

Whilst heavily fighting back tears, Clamen informed that the reward has been increased by 20,000 U$ up to 100.000 soles. She stated that she has not given up bringing her son home, although she couldn’t say how long she would stay in Peru on this occasion.

Penny Galganov, Jesse´s aunt shared an emotional message on her Facebook account, in which she praised her brother´s unstoppable commitment and roll as a father. She wrote: ¨ I thought by now Jesse would be home with our family. Sadly, Jesse has not been found yet. It is four months and the uncertainty of Jesse’s whereabouts are still unknown. My brother Todd, is truly amazing! His dedication as a father, his devotion and pure love for Jesse, will not stop. He will continue to stay in Peru until Jesse comes home. Our family is strong and we shall never lose hope! Please, please keep posting and sharing, in hopes that someone will see Jesse’s picture and come forward with information
